Got them last week. Already in the badgeholder for safe keeping.
I felt like Charlie from Willy Wonka did when he found the golden ticket :-)
Got it yesterday. Ready to go now!
I registered online 8/13. Still no badge only an email that I have 5 days to preregister.
When I used to mail mine in I had a badge 4 days later. So much for technology.

Last October my badges never came and I ended up having to get them at the meet. Needless to say after paying the surcharge for online ordering I was not happy about having to go to the Silver Hall to get my badge. I ordered mine last week and still nothing. Before online ordering I would get them much faster via the return address envelope I provided. I'm not impressed with this new system yet. Something seems to be slowing this process down when it should be speeding it up. BigRail
Wheather you go or don't go, you should have sent in your registration a long time ago. Why do so many of you wait till the last minute?
My fee cleared my credit card on 8/10, and I'm still waiting. In the recent past, I had my badge 4-5 days after on-line registration.
Mine did get shipped to the old address again. Hopefully by the spring this will have been taken care of.

Confirmation of payment came with 92,670 minutes 'till the opening. Still no badge. Not exactly the last minute.
Pete
eddie g,
In answer to your question of why do you wait so long, I can only speak for myself, last year it took approximately 3 weeks for my online reservation to come. by that time the hotels were all booked. I tried it by snail mail this time, in hopes that the powers that be this time will be more coordinated and allow me to attend in October. Last year the health of my mother-in-law was at risk, so I did not attend.
This year I hope the stars align in such a way as to effect the opposite.
Well, there's always prayer!

If I wasn't planning to go why would I send in my registration? Some of us don't know til later if we are going and if not then we just waste the registration fee and I'm not in the habit of throwing money away. Hopefully you are just being facetious.
Jerry
Jerry, If you don't go then you can say you have made a donation to the TCA eastern division.
Ordered mine on the 19th of August. I was away working out of State the month of July and found the reminder in the pile of mail. Still have 47 days to get here.

The registration fee is low. Whether or not I am planning to go, I register, so if I decide to go at the last minute then I am all set.

Badges received and family ready to go.
Hope to see some forum members at Steamtown Railfest this weekend in Scranton PA. Should be great plus there is an Italian Festival a few blocks away. Great food.
I online registered at the beginning of JUL and no badge yet...
It was faster when I mailed it in..
Guys,
Still no badge!

Its not throwing money away if you end up not going. You are supporting the TCA.
Rob
Mine arrived last week.

No it is throwing money away. If I wanted to support the TCA or ED I would send them a donation, to simply send the registration fee in twice a year with no plan to go unless the mood strikes me or the stars align is a waste no matter how you spin it. There are more worthwhile groups like the Boy Scouts I support with my donations. If the mood strikes me at a late date I will just go and pay at the door.
And if the problems I encountered to get my registration fee in this time aren't resolved to to my satisfaction there's a good chance that I will not be re-upping my membership. I have been in touch with the ED about it and while they are handling it the best they can it seems like someone down there really doesn't know what they're doing and is making it up as they go. I won't go into details about it here simply because it will just become fodder for the guys who like to bash the TCA and ED and York, but I can guarantee if it happened to anyone else going you'd be a little ticked off too. So expecting me to just "let them have it if I don't go" doesn't sit well with me right now.
All this being said I am still looking forward to going this October and I hope to see some of you there.
Jerry
I sent my registration in on 8-26-2013 and received it today 9-3-2013. I think that is pretty darn good turn around. Thank you Jim Kronz and staff, if you have a staff.
Rick
You TCA membership card is different than your York pass. You will need the York pass. While I have never had to produce it, I wouldn't attend York without bringing my TCA membership card too.

That's what I do, as well. For example, I'm not planning to go this October, but my registration was completed nevertheless. I suppose it does throw off the final attendance figures a bit, but I don't mind giving the Eastern Div. a few extra bucks.
Absolutely not! You'll have to register on-line (if such registration is still available) or register in person when you get to the meet (Silver Hall registration desk).
This was the first time I didn't receive a booklet for the meet. I ended up registering online back on August 14 and received my badge in the mail August 31.
Registered online mid- August and still waiting for our badges to come!
Just checked email confirmation and it said badges would be mailed Sept 1st--hopefully they are on the way!!
Marty,
I took your advice and registered online with Eastern Division of the TCA. Many thanks. All this energy I am saving, as I once more do wind sprints to the mailbox daily, in hopeful anticipation of the Sacred Pass! Remember waiting for the secret decoder rings, guys?
Mike Maurice
I registered on Sunday and my confirmation said the badges would be mailed by September 15th. Plenty of time before the Meet.
Registered 8/18 so hopefully here soon!

Received our Badges Today! Woot!
When I had called they said they were sending them out last weekend and was delayed due to being out of the colored paper stock.
