Aquatex glass is tempered glass.

I had mine cut by the glass shop. Too expensive to make a mistake.
It's tempered. Even glass shops can't cut it, it's a factory job.
I am in the process of remodeling a 1936 Kitchen, these pictures were taken today, Oct. 6th., 2015. The cabinets were shipped to my house with no glass, a glass shop came out and removed the doors to cut the glass to fit the cabinets.
Only professional glass shops can do this process. Hope this helps, with your model train project.

To cut tempered glass, you need to first anneal it by heating it in an oven and then letting it cool very slowly. Pain in the neck, but not rocket science.
I had to go to a major glass supplier to order Aquatex. It does not come tempered when they receive it. I could have had the supplier temper it after cutting it to size but for our use, it's not necessary.
Also, having them cut it to size was part of the cost. At any rate, it would be minimal.
You cannot cut tempered glass, you can only cut annealed glass. You cut the annealed glass and sand the edges otherwise the glass will break during the tempering process, then it is tempered in a tempering furnace and then cool it down slowly so it doesnt break.

Why do you want to cut it? I worked for a glass company for 20 years. I might be able to help.

Thanks but I went with Andres suggestion for the waterglass and found it locally.
