The FL-9's shipped first from CA, followed by the Columbian coaches. The sleepers will ship very soon.

Would you know if the Columbian coaches have shipped to customers yet?

Got my UP sleepers yesterday and they are very, very nice. My passenger car experience has been K-Line 21" and Wasatch. They're in a completely different ballpark than the K-Lines and comparing to Wasatch isn't fair. The paint on these is smooth and crisp, decals or printing is excellent, glazed windows with shades, partitioned interiors with tables, chairs and passengers, good car end detail with diaphrams, tons of underbody detail, very nice sprung trucks and the paint matches my E7's well. Excellent value for anyone looking for passenger cars.

My 10-6 and 4-4-2 sleepers arrived today (they shipped last week friday; with UPS it's normal for it to take five business days to get here to the east coast).  They look terrific, the painting and lettering look great.

I ordered the Pullman cars and was a bit surprised at the paint scheme (its a light grey with a dark grey roof and a dark grey strripe through the windows).  I thought the cut sheet originally showed a Pullman car as with a dark grey body and a light grey stripe.  It's probably my memory that's at fault.  I though I saved a copy of the cut sheet but can't seem to find it.  Did anyone save a copy of the first cut sheet that came out?  The current one on the GGD website shows a NYC car but I seem to remember that the earlier sheet showed a Pullman car where teh NYC car is now.

GG1 4877,

Thanks for posting the paint schemes, much appreciated.  I couldn't remember what was planned.  I'll have to give GGD a call to see what if any of the other road names, may still be available.

My Amtrak ones arrived today.  Two 4-4-2 Pullmans and one 10-6.  Very, very nice.  Great underbody detail, nice refinement on the ribs on the roof and the interiors show well with the varied height window shades.  The graphics are crisp and are a welcome addition to my roster. Pics soon.

Now for some more people to pre-order the coaches in Amtrak.  I'm in for eight right now .....

BOILERMAKER it took 4 days for mine to travel from Ca to MI. So I would guess you are looking at 5. YOu should get a tracking number if they are direct from GGD.

I put in an order for 5 of the 85' coaches in CN but I have not seen anyone say anything about the CN cars so I don't know if I will get the 85' Coaches.

Popsrr - of all the schemes, I think CN was certainly one of the more enjoyable ones to work on.  It is such an attractive scheme and very European feeling.  The CN Maple leaf logo took several hours worth of drafting alone.  I love the scheme, but I just don't model CN.  Oddly enough though a few of these cars in VIA Blue with the yellow stripes might have grabbed my attention.  Go figure!

A terrible cell phone shot of my Amtrak ones.  Need to get a real camera out and photo graph them properly.  I have two 4-4-2s and one 10-6.

GG1 Your additional picture is really nice! Very Clean lines.

I know what you mean about the time spent drawing up the Maple Leaf. I had to make a drawing of the CN Noodle for a fellow to make up apattern for laser cutting the CN Logos for some of my buildings. This is my CN ABBA Diesel Shop for my passenger consist

I'm going to be slightly unfair for a minute, and compare these to the K-line cars. The K-line cars are 10 years old now (at least), and theres just some things that arent quite up to the same standard. That being said, they're not *THAT* bad.

here's the side by side.

The most glaring problem is obviously the shiny chrome ends of the K-line cars, but they're also a slight bit taller than the GGD cars, despite appearing to ride at about the same height on their trucks. The K-line diaphragms are also too short in height BUT, two coupled K-line cars will mate with no diaphragm gap. The GGDs are close, but not quite. The doors and windows also sit lower on the K-line car. I am unsure as to which is correct, as I am not clear on the prototype of the K-line car. My gut tells me that they put the windows and doors in the spot that "looked right".

There's a noticeable width difference as well.

Have we come a long way in 10years? Yes we have, but I dont think that the K-line cars should be put out to pasture. I think it really just goes to show how good they really were when they first came out.

My plan was always to mix up cars (I'm getting some Atlas Zephyr cars too), so all these cars shuffled up should work out fine, for the typical mixed bag of Amtrak Phase 1 cars. Now if only I could get a baggage car...

Boilermaker1 and Big Jim your GGD cars look outstanding. I also have the K-Line 21"ATSF hI & Lo Level Cars and I think they are VERY NICE CARS.
