Ben:

The last time I saw the D Types operating was in June, 2004 on the Brighton Line for the 100th anniversary of the New York City Subway system. They and all of the other subway and el cars that were in operating condition ran to Brighton Beach Station and then operated between there and the Kings Highway Station on the two middle express tracks for members of the New York Transit Museum all day. When were you at Pitkin Yard? The last time I saw the D Types was when I was on a tour of the Coney Island Yards a few years ago and they did not look to good then.

The last time I saw the Steinway car was also on that tour of the Coney Island Yards and it did not look good also. I wonder if it the same car that you photographed. I was told then that it is the only one of that car model to survive.

Looking forward to the METCA Dinner on November 2nd. Hope no storm this time.
