Atlas 50' NSC plugdoor boxcar

Nick, there is no doubt we need a greater variety of modern boxcars.  This would certainly be a good choice.  I do like Bill Yancey's ModernEraOScale products, obviously more pricey, but higher quality, more details and they do require assembly, painting, decals. 

There is an old saying: "The squeaky wheel gets the grease!" Go for it.

Hi Mike, yes I'm collecting Mr Yanceys kits over here, apart from the Soo ones. Thats why I didn't suggest Atlas attempt the FMC cars which also feature in the HO lineup. The other boxcar should of course be the PS 5344.  I did get  a reply which indicated that my request would be forwarded to their R & D Dept, but if they don't get further requests I doubt it will get progressed.

Nick, makes sense to me.  I have cast my vote.   The one thing I would say with the 7-post cars from Bill.  I am painting mine for WC and those cars go all over the place.  Also, IIRC, besides the SOO variations, the WC and the CSX had the X panel roof version, while the BN, BNSF, MRL had diagonal panel roof version
