All this time, the roof vents have bothered me. At the same time I've been looking for a solution to make these parts look as good as the rest of the car, I tried everything. This week I finally came across what seems like a plausible solution.

Santiago,
What a creative solution. I guess that you could always change out the discolored pieces if that occurs.

Norn,
You got to admit this is one heck of a cool fix, and very inexpensive to boot!

Wow, what a great improvement!!! Good job.
That is AWESOME! I am going to bookmark this fix, because I am hoping that Atlas does in fact release the CB&Q cars as a set. If they do I am a buyer and I will apply this fix to me set. Thanks for sharing!
Santiago, you are a fiend !!!! Excellent pursuit of perfection! Such details add immensely to a model.

Re-doing the placards on all of my cars, the enormous rivets are not only distracting they are also different on some cars. It's going to be tedious, but I love these cars too much to not do something about it!
Before....
After.....
The profile looks much better now!

I created the master file for the placards graphics myself. If anyone is interested send me an email, I'll be happy to share it. All you'd need is a laser printer and decal paper.

Where can one fine this materi for the vents?
Santiago,
I'm committing sacrilege with these cars and converting to Santa Fe. One of my future projects.
Good stuff Santiago!

I'm even more blasphemous. The Erie is testing a set of the cars on my layout. I don't think I'm going to re-decal them but just run the train. Domes in the east!
