I had been reluctant to purchase Atlas locomotives due to the fact my layout contains some of the old 24" radius curves. My Weaver locomotives negotiate these curves with no problem other than a slight filing of the shank on the 805 couplers.

I received an Atlas U-23B from the bay and placed it on my tracks. It went around the curves with no problem. Temporarily I have placed one of my old AHM "C" liners behind it with truck mounted couples to pull the train. All is well!

It is ironic that you mention this as we had just had the same concern with our older Atlas O 2 rail track. It was really no problem with most of the shorter cars. Our issues came with the older Rivarossi track that we had. The Atlas cars seemed to have a lot of problems with it, even though the curves are more gracious. It looks like the actual rail profile is not the same as the regular Atlas tracks. Perhaps it is something to do with the European prototype or something. Either way, I will be replacing it with Atlas track in the near future.

That IS interesting. I wonder if perhaps that's why AHM track seems to be less expensive on eBay than Atlas stuff from the same era...
