Maybe because the manufacture at a train show mentions a feature that their locomotives will have but it isn't mentioned in the catalog so as a customer I asked for a clarification?

I may be going out on a limb but I suspect, that sometimes manufactures make changes to their products after a catalog has been released.  I also suspect that customers will ask manufactures follow up questions about their products after a catalog has been released. Perhaps you have heard of that happening in the past??

Changes to existing products in the catalog, sure.

Adding new part numbers... That would necessitate a new catalog.

Uh uh… okay. I just wanted to ask a follow up question to what the Atlas rep said at York. Nothing unusual about that. If and when Atlas offers both TMCC and DCS versions of their locomotives it will significantly increase their sales as well as let us be able to get the locomotives we want with the control system we want. That sounds like a win-win for Atlas and the customers. What’s wrong with that?

The catalogs are pdf files that have to be printed personally for a hard copy.

It should not be too difficult for them to create a new catalog supplement that is only a pdf.

Of course it isn’t a big deal. It’s just adding a supplement to the catalog. I think some people were are just getting agitated that Atlas might offer TMCC in their locomotives and not just DCS. You would think that the idea that people could order their Atlas locomotive with the Command Control system of their choice would meet universal acclaim. But I suspect that really isn’t that case. I hope it does happen. Not only would it give me additional locomotives to purchase but it would be fascinating to see how the TMCC vs DCS pre-orders for the same locomotive play out.

Nobody will be agitated if they put TMCC in former MTH locos. Everyone in the hobby wants everyone to get what ever system they want in any locomotive they want.
