I have several 3rd generation switches (yellow sticker) and have not had a problem in 2 years. I also have some early versions (not sure which generation?) that I got used when the shortage was going on. Once I got their initial problems (some were pretty well used) repaired (thanks to parts from Atlas), they have also been trouble free. I was able to get track & switch machines from my LHS and switch parts from Atlas during the shortage, just not switches. As you say the Atlas switch shortage is no longer a problem as of earlier this year. And FWIW, from another thread here a few days ago, it sounds like the Scaletrax shortage is also been resolved for anyone interested in that.
