If Atlas finally produces this model then on future runs the standard cab version will get made,a good reference point is their HO & N guage runs of this model, they tend to follow the same production pattern and rd names on repainted reruns.

Andrew, pay for it, why u worry as they aren't going to make it. Maybe they think MTH will build it for them as they are giving MTH enough time to do so. Gee, it looks like it has been put on hold another year and here I just upgraded my res. to 2 gold units b4 hearing this put off again. It would be nice if they came fwd and just told us what the real hold up is as this isn't a waay to treat ones customers.

Someone say container. Anyone look out to the Western ports. I am just wondering a few ? here. As the conflict between labor and owners ends how many trains a day will leave LA. Looks like I need to spend time train watching as they pass through Az. as I won't have to wait long between trains. I also wonder where all the container cars are being held with containers going back to China. I would think there is just so much sidings available for storage as most these cars are usually moving. I also guess there are a lot of engineers furloughed till the strike ends. I got my favorite spot in the boonies for train watching close to Phoenix and anticipate some very good days doing so.

All this said, one think or knows if Atlas containers deliver at East or West coast ports as of now they are over a month behind and 35 ships waiting to unload just in LA. Did I hear right in that these ships load more than 4000 containers per ship. A 100 car train with 200 containers is 20 trains just for containers. 20 trains is a lot of cars to del. to the port for loading. I am sure there are more than one unloading area at the port so maybe 2 ships can be unloaded so maybe 40 trains. out and 40 in. Wow.

No question the newest MTH -8s are well done but as a long time 2-railer the Atlas Mline diesels are my choice[GP60s & SD40s], I was disappointed when Atlas announced the GE in the Tman line rather than Mline[5 yrs ago]I believe that was to keep priceing in line and they did offer the full electronics as an option. For me the tinplate handrail system and heavier looking fixed pilots,no 2 rail unpowered units and as I understand not compatiable to MU with Atlas in straight DC mode take it off my want list. Of course whether Atlas actually produces the GE remains to be seen, it is one of 3 diesels on their 1stQ 2015 A-Z ship schedule and since the RS1 is coming in on the next container it is doubtfull if more than one of the remaining diesels comes in at all this year.JMO
