Bought two Mystery Boxes the other day, Well they came in on a day that couldn't be more helpful to me. 1st about the boxes, one had the Red Owl store in it , that wasn't great enough the next one had the train station in it. Two items I wanted, Whats wrong with them no idea if not just opened up or where used on a display somewhere during Christmas. ( I don't have the power plugs to test them ) I was kinda depressed as my wife had a mini stroke ( or were believing that is what it was at present) so I spent the day at the hospital ( from around 5 am to about 6 P.M. ) so to come home to that helped a lot. It sure helped me a lot. Yes I knew I ordered them and they were due in but with all going on I forgot about them.

Again thanks for offering some great products.

Bill, sorry to hear about your wife, I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a full recovery. As for your Mystery Boxes, sounds like the perfect pick~me~up! It would be awesome if plugged in, they worked with no problems!

I've thought of buying a Menards Mystery Box. Thought it would be cool to get some things I don't already have, maybe something in the discontinued category! What else did they put in there, besides the Depot and Red Owl, just wondering? Have a good day and take care.

Rusty, in-case Bill is busy I can answer your question about the mystery box.

They "usually" include 1 building, 2 train cars (I see the current listing says 3 cars, maybe I am remembering incorrectly), 1 die-cast, and 1 very miscellaneous item. For miscellaneous I once got a hat, in another I got a flashlight. Both of my buildings had some damage (which I expected). Both needed some easy to make truss repair (squashed roofs). On my engine house I also had some broken lights that I repaired. They usually price these at $99.

We thank-you all for all the wishes and prayers.

Let me explain to you all what all happened. Saturday night she went to bed early with a headache/neck ache on the right lower side, Sometime during the night she woke up light headed but didn't tell me. Sunday morning she knew she had lost use of her left leg and arm ( about 70 - 80% ) again wouldn't tell me but told me she was light headed and needed my help to get her to the bathroom. Then to the couch and back and forth a couple of times. Monday morning she woke me up calling for me to get her to the bathroom again, but this time because of her slippery shirt ( silk like ) I lost my grasp and she went down and I almost went down ( this is because her left side gave her no support and I didn't know. All I know she would like twist me as we went. That was when I called 911. Haven't gotten a confirmed diagnoses but it's pretty sure she had a mild stroke but now her back is worse than it was.

It doesn't look good for Donna as she may have hurt her back even more when she fell. It kills her for them to try and get her to just stand up. I think she is going to end up in a wheelchair which really messes things up for me. as I can't go to like lowes or walmart without her because of my PTSD and this will make it real hard to get her in or out of the truck. If not impossible. I'm not sure who has to pay for a ramp for her to get up and down for the house but I can see I will need one before she comes home. If I have to I'll get the wood somehow and build it myself as I have the tools and the knowledge.  I may have to try with a neighbor I do okay with. By myself I'm okay with 2 or 3 others but beyond that it starts causing problems for me. I had a couple of problems today in the elevator at the hospital as there where like 4 others in it and it was a tiny elevator.

This set I got one building, 3 train cars , ( usually like one flat with load, One boxcar, one hopper or a tank car. this time I ended up with 3 flats with loads, one had a military flatbed truck kinda like a deuce and a half, one with two front loaders and one with a kubota tractor, one boxcar, one tank car, one hopper, all with easy fixes. I gt like 3 auto's in each one. one hat in one and the other had like a camo small bag something like a gym type bag with a harden bottom with tiny legs. I usually give the cars to my neighbor for her grandson, he's about 3 now. He loves them and she is my support and like a little sister to me.

I bought these last week with the 11%. I send the rebate in with a friends name and we split the rebates once it hits $30 or more.

Thanks for the prayers all, Let me update you all as to what's going on now.

I went back in about 8 last night and spent the night. Got about 2 hours sleep over the whole night. So you know where I'm heading. One of the nurses told me the MRI came back negative so that's good but now we need to figure out what has caused her semi-paralysis or what ever you want to call it. Still have not talked to the DR. Also need to find out what all is involved in this aggressive physical therapy, there talkin about.

New update:

Well with the MRI showing nothing, I didn't want to jump the gun but I was betting on a neurologist to be the next step and guess what. Give the man a prize we have a winner. Still not good but it is something to see about. Now the thing is, what's going to be the next step, Is it a chiropractor? is it therapy still? who knows till she sees him/her. Still a wait and see game.

And were not out of the woods yet.

Yeas ago my Dad was hospitalized and treated for a stroke.During his hospital stay, my wife read a article in Readers Digest about Guillain–Barré syndrome and the doctors were reluctant to check. When they checked they indeed found that was his problem. You can look it up on Wikipedia as it mimics a stroke.

Just a FYI to keep in the back of your mind for love ones and even yourself.

Evening all, Again Donna and I thank-you for the prayers and best wishes for her. Well it looks like the power of prayer is working, They did a second MRI today and they discovered  some swelling on the left side of her brain, The DR. said as that goes down she will get more and more use of her limbs back. ( looking for smiley that is a cartwheel right now)
