For those of you interested in modeling steel mills, this is the one meet to attend!
I went last year (you can search for my posted report on the forum) and the term "informative" is a massive understatement. I learned a lot about the steel making process, its history, and techniques for modeling it. You get as much out of the knowledgable audience as you do the presenters. And the presenters are typically first-rate.

Fair warning, there is a ton of HO scale stuff commercially available for modeling the steel making industry and you'll see that at this meet. However, the good ideas work in any scale and scratchbuilding in O (thanks to Plastruct and Evergreeen) is a lot easier than you think. Check out the current thread "show us your steel mills".
I highly recommend this meet. Wish I'd gone before 2013.
