Autism Awareness Day During LCCA’s 44th Annual Convention (July 24, 2014)
The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) in conjunction with the Autism Society of Indiana hosted a special day for families affected by autism on Thursday morning July 24 at the Marriot East Hotel in Indianapolis IN. As part of the LCCA’s 44th Annual Convention, Lionel LLC and LCCA had three distinctive types of model toy train layouts for children of different ages and needs to interact with. Scott McAllen was designated “Lionel’s Train Engineer for the Day” during this event. Scott was given a Lionel LionChief Plus remote controller hand held unit and was able to run the trains on Lionel’s impressive layouts. Scott truly experience the magic of Lionel trains that day. Thanks to the generosity of Lionel, Scott received his very own starter Lionel train set including track and transformer.
Thank you Lionel, Autism Society of Indiana, but most of all thank you Scott McAllen for attending and participating in this Lionel train filled, fun event. Scott, we hope you will continue to experience the magic of Lionel trains and the joy of being a new LCCA Junior Member. Welcome to the club!
Best regards,
