Automobiles/ Trucks 1/43-1/50 scale let’s see them

All the kits that everybody is posting is starting to pique my interest at trying my hand at one. There’s more to that which I’ll put in a follow-up post to provide some context.

Found some ice diecast this past weekend at the Renninger’s train meet!

MTH Trailways bus! Might not seem too special but it’s a nice, realistic, non-geographically tied bus-as opposed to the Lionel by Corgi coach and the Eastern Michigan Yellow Coach( it replaced the later).

Was very excited to find these next two at $10 each!- Solido 1/50 Kaiser Jeep

Victoria(Vitesse) 1/43 United States Army Hummer

all came boxed, which was nice. Especially for the Solido since it had the decals, instructions for placement, and the 2 soldiers

from eBay, arrived last week. Found this at a BIN much below what I normally see it at and had to bite. Corgi Classics Mobile Police Column:

Got the tires for my 623 Dinky Army Wagon off eBay from the seller you recommended- love it more than I thought I would! The soldiers fit nicely and IMO looks right at home behind the 670 armoured car. Thanks a bunch, guys!

Hi Steve, glad to see you got some tires for your rig. I found it amazing that even with the age of these old dinkys and corgis, that parts are still available.

I have added a fire engine show to my layout. I bought them on Ebay. I have 2 more(a Jeep firetruck, and another aerial ladder truck coming).

I like that display especially the B Mack. Thanks for sharing

My next aerial ladder is a B Mack. It will complement the B Mack pumper I already have.

Nothing new from me but was wondering if Joel and got your plates yet and if so are they the right size?

Hi Mike, just got the plates today. They almost look a little big but I’m going to trim them down as much as possible and then look closer at them. Thanks Buddy!

im currently Peking on two items, a corgi Triumph Herald, and a dinky fire truck. I’ll keep you all posted.

I'm sitting here looking at a  beautiful Dinky European style Fire Engine that was restored by Mike G, Forum member'.  This surprise came early this morning  in the mail .  What a nice surprise 😲 it was to receive an unexpected package containing this terrific little gem.

Mike did a great deal of work on this Dinky, and as his first restore performed a phenomenal job.  Thank you Mike for such a nice Easter present'...😀👍

Ted, I am glad you got it and you like it! I hope it will fit in well on your layout!

This is for JDFONZ,  Joel, I finally got my 3.5MM jewels. They fit perfect on the Dinky's and Corgi's and look great'...

Funny I just finished not ten minutes ago some final painting and “jewel headlights” on my Corgi Triumph Herald. And here you are knocking them out of the ballpark! I think my Herald will be complete tomorrow, so I can post some pics. And I can’t believe that Mike, sending you that fire truck! What an awesome guy! Way to go Mike, you are what makes this forum so great! 👍👍😎

Mike. What a nice gift to Ted that truck is beautiful and to give it away to a friend makes it more beautiful you guys here are one of the best.

Cor. Thanks for the update can’t wait to see the wet stuff and that other kit is something else I had one years ago but sold it just too many small parts for my arthritis hands

Ted. Those cars look great I hope to get back at the bench soon but I’ve been busy getting ready to plant the garden and cleaning around the Chicken pen and these hatch this week and two more. Care on.

Not the best photos Jowel.  (cell phone). I wanted to let you know , that Kwik paint stipper is the best,  I soaked three cars in a covered glass dish over night.  Completely spotless in the AM. One was Corgi. It's no wonder it was sold everywhere....

And that Mike',  what a nice surprise indeed.  and I must say the photos do it no justice.  Mike did a beautiful restoration on that engine'.. He is quite a guy'...

Wow, Lee that is very cool.  I've often wondered how a person distinguishes the difference between the eggs you eat, and the ones that have baby chickens inside'...🐔?

Moonlicht:  I have Russian die-cast "Model A" cars in 1/43 which I use as Fords, as the prototypes were built with Ford dies Henry sent to the USSR, so l would modify, Americanize, the bed of that Russian kit and consider it a '30-'31 Ford.

Thanks for the nice words everyone! I enjoyed doing the fire truck and liked how it turned out. But it is the wrong era for my layout and I thought it would fit right in on Ted's layout. I wanted him to have it as he is always giving positive motivation on restore jobs and without him, Joel, Paul, and Lee I would have never tried it. The best part for me was being able to share it with someone who I thought would really enjoy it! Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend!

So here is my latest project car. A Corgi Triumph Herald. And it has a flip open hood, or bonnet if you are in the U.K. These are the before shots. Looks like someone marked their cars on the bottom with an X so they knew it was theirs.

Here’s my resto job on the Corgi Triumph Herald,  I’m super happy with the results. The paint came out nearly perfect, and I detailed the engine as well.i also sanded the headlights flat so I could install jewels for headlights. Ted, you’re familiar with that. I think this is my new favorite.

Wow WE, Joel, what a beauty'.. A perfect paint job'.. I love 💚 the color.  It certainly is among one of the favorites. Fabulous resto Jowel. A great little car from England. The models as well as the real ones'...😁 ANd the jewel headlights add an extra touch of quality and class...

Thanks Ted, appreciate your kudos. But what is up with the Jowel thing? Took the red interior to the upholstery shop and had a brown one put in. It goes with the gold and brown exterior.
