Mike Thanks but it’s you guys who support it. Thanks to all of you.
Here is my latest 1:50 acquisition...
The left is a Kenny tractor and has a bunk and the right Kenny tractor is a daycab.
Thank you all for the likes and positive comments. While what I've been doing lately isn't on the same level as the model building and die-cast restoration going on in this thread seeing what others are doing has inspired my upgrades to theses inexpensive toy rack vehicles.
Prrhorseshoecurve, Nice looking trucks! The orange really pops!
Joe, don't fool yourself your doing amazing work! Its always a pleasure to see your post for your upgrades!

Heck, they might even have a paint job by Gary Ridgway!
Rich - You are correct , the trailer is a 28 ft. pup. It is a Tonkin 1/53 scale. I found them on ebay . They were only 8 bucks or something like that.
@mike g. posted:Thanks guys for all the nice words! Like I said before the next one is going to be a simple car! LOL
Joel, as for taking the ladder off the top on the underside of the post there were 2 split washers and a flat washer. The underside of the pin had been flattened out so I just drilled it out till the flat washer came free. Putting it back together I reinstalled the split washers, the flat washer sat flush with the end of the pin. So I just put 3 drops of super glue and let it sit for a couple hours before even touching it. It seamed to work!
Coach Joe, what an amazing job on the 53 Caddy! I wish I had the money and space as I would buy one to run around in todays times! Your attention to details is outstanding!
Anyone heard from Ted? I think he is missing in action! LOL
Mike,
Pick up a small spray can of CA glue accelerator, a/k/a "Zip Kicker" - it will instantly cure the CA glue once applied so you can keep working without having to wait for the glue to cure - works like a charm and makes the projects go a lot quicker. It also comes in a brush on bottle, but I like the spray.
If I need three hands (two to hold the pieces together and one to spray the accelerator), I just call the boss to come down and she sprays the accelerator while I hold the pieces together.
Just make sure to wipe any excess spray off immediately so it doesn't react with anything else.

Richie, thank you for the advice! I will order some while I am on Amazon to order a 2-56 tap and bit
Yup Mike, if you’re going to keep doing those dinkys and corgis, a 2-56 tap is essential!

Joe, your work is beautiful'... you do a heck of a job dressing up your cars'.. keep in mind there is no competition on this thread'.. There is no judging. We all have fun, and share how were are spending our time'. One of the few forums an threads that is completely user friendly... No rivet counting'.. I'm glad you are part of the team'...😁
You know what Joe, Ted is right. Just a bunch of guys having fun building, or rebuilding cars and trucks for their layout, or display. Everyone here is on the same playing field. Just having a good time, so keep up the good work and show it to all of us!
Hey Joe, just remember when you become famous! We were here all along! We got your back buddy!
Just came back from a road trip to Florida. On the way there, of course we had to again stop at the "famous" South of the Border store complex.
There I found these two military trucks that look to be around 1/50 for my Cape Warrenaveral military base.
I plan to detail them, maybe Dullcoat, and add benches and soldiers in the troop carrier.
A couple years ago I cut this old Revell tanker down and added some supports added some decals from a place in France called GasOline they have wonderful 1/48 scale Millitary Models. Today I took some pics of it being Piggyback. Of course the tank is Empty and is being transported to go in service.

Nice find John Are you planning to put them on the layout? If so don’t forget us post them here
The entire family go with Dad to look a used station wagon for sale. It will be a new car for them if they can get the seller to drop the price. However, it is pristine condition and is a gorgeous car'. Grandma & Papa consider helping out with a contribution. Lets see how Loyd makes out...😲 Connie, Loyd's wife has her doubts and doesn't think they can afford such a nice car, as they arestill waiting for their stimulus check'...💲💰😢
Well, unfortunately, Loyd, couldn't together with the seller on the price he was asking. Connie, tells him, now worries, we'll find something else. We'll just have to wait a little longer to take our family trip....

Ted those pics are very convincing I thought the first one was real
Ted, did they have stimulus checks back then? Haha!

Thanks Lee
Yes, they will go on the layout - that is where Cape Warrenaveral is.
I won't forget, pics will be posted. Right now I'm going through 10 days of OGR Forum posts to catch up with you guys

Ha, I should have thought about that' ANd said it was Lloyd's dream to have 57 Chevy, classic car....(LOL)
Quarter Gauger, you are the master story teller! I'm with Lee: I thought that first photo was the real thing until I noticed the plastic stands for the figures in later photos.
Great car, really great and realistic scale people, great story! To me trains and cars -- real and model -- are all about story telling.
You made my evening :-) Thanks for the effort putting it all together for us.
Tomlinson Run Railroad
P.S. -- I, too, have been working on cars having just finished building a 1/8 scale Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron, so it's obviously not an appropriate scale for this post -- let alone my carpet layout. Some day I may pick up one in 1/43; I've seen a few and they are sweet. I'd even let Lloyd and Connie have a ride. 😀
Tomlinson Run Railroad, Thanks very much'.. Your nice comments have made my night as well. I found this car on the bay'. A Corgi Classic. A guy in California was selling it for $6.99. & 6 bucks shipping. The figures I finished up painting today when the car arrived. So I thought I'd take a few pics.. As I mentioned before, No rehearsal, or preparations. Just a quick shoot on the deck with the wind blowing. I never imagined they would come out as good as they did.... Thanks again'..😬
PS: Put your Bugatti on the thread. We are not regulated by scale per say'. I think everyone would like to see your car'...
To keep this train related, I was thinking about a military show for the townsfolk. But the scale just does not work for lionel trains. 1/35 vs. 1/48.

Wow Joel, that is nice work. The tanks weathering is spot on'.. Did you paint the soldier? They look very good as well...
Yes, all hand painted. Been working to try and take my painting and weathering to the next level. You certainly nailed that family looking for their new classic car. Did you hand paint those people?

That’s a really cool idea, Lee! Using the Piggyback PS-4’s ramps and an Idler flat to fit the cab with the tanker! By now y’all know I love my army vehicles very well done on that old Revell. Funny you mention Gaso.Line just came across it on motorpool for the first time a couple of days ago but they didn’t show anything- will have to dig further. Thanks for sharing! Looks like I might not have to take my PS4 flat off the layout after all

South of the Border is still there? I recall it from 1972-1973.
Somebody needs to make an O scale representation of that place
