Hi all, have these been discontinued? I have been looking for one but can't find anyone who has one in stock.

They are not discontinued. They have been out of stock at MTH for quite some time now. (how they run out of staple items like this just amazes me) They will be back in stock very soon.
I believe they're manufactured in lots, and if someone isn't on the ball tracking inventory, you run out of them. In a much smaller way, I've run out of some of my little product line in a similar fashion. If I suddenly get a run on a product that I didn't anticipate, I have been known to run out of stock before the next batch is received. Turn-around time for Chinese manufacturing is normally measured in months, sometimes many months!
All thanks, yes I know about manufacturing lead times. I was involved in a product development once that was nothing but a headache. Of course, there is also the "on the boat" issue.
Both of my go train guy, trainworld in NY and Just Trains, delaware are taking order for tiu, remote, wiu, aiu. They indicated orders taken now might be filled in next 2 weeks.

I was able to find a brand new TIU & handheld unit combo pack from a G scale website a month ago. I felt like I won the lottery. Unfortunately it was their last one.
Ive been waiting for the new TIU, WIU combo since they started talking about it last year. Beginning to think I should have bought the current issue. Now no one has them.
They just shipped.
Got email this morning from Mario's. They are back in stock. This dealer has great prices, free shipping usually, and quick service.
Do the ones coming into stock now have wy-fy built in or are they just the same as Rev-L?
Nothing has ever been said of MTH planning to add wifi to the TIU. I understand that there may have been internal hardware changes since the Rev L came out years ago.

No, they do not. They're the same as the recurring Rev-L models.
You would still need to purchase the WiFi box separately.
I just ordered one from Mario's, along with a Z4000 (which was also out of stock for a long while).
My hope at this point is that the new ones will not need a software/firmware upgrade to 6.1
The DCS systems now come with a TIU and WIU, NO remote. I was told this is the last run of remotes that MTH is doing.
Gee I'm glad that I grabbed an extra remote when I saw one for sale!
I also.
What kind of price on a used MTH TIU and hand held remote?
First, you have to find the MTH remote for sale!
Here's one for $155: https://www.trainworld.com/man...ntrol-handheld-unit/

Me as well.

And it seems that was that.... (link doesn't work anymore, and I double checked by searching the catalog number, so they are presumably now out of stock)
Glad I have bought a couple of extras as well. Might consider another if I find one.

Mario's Trains has them available for $165 after using their $15 discount code: MARIO15
MTH has them for sale directly on their website and they also show a list of dealers who have them in stock: https://mthtrains.com/50-1002

Thank you.
So for the two units, a used TIU and a used remote hand held, what should it cost?
Tom, let me give you some advice. Do not be penny wise & pound foolish. There have been internal improvements to Rev L's since introduced. I can think of several possible changes to internal surge suppression to make the RevL "harder," that would be worth the few pennies extra. With a used remote, you do not know how many times the owner's grandkids (like mine) used it to try to crack a concrete floor. I happen to be a fan of Mario's, and find his combination of prices and shipping costs ($0.00) to be very attractive. The few extra dollars over a pig in a poke is a sound investment, and comes with a warranty.
Thank you RIR,

Tom, prices are all over the map on those. I have scored the set for $75, it was a very good day. More typical prices would be in the $150-200 range for a used TIU and remote I imagine.
As I recall, the Revs H and I3 were rock solid. As has been narrated in many forum threads, Rev Ls of various generations have had their issues. Yet the H & I3 should sell for less than because of age. Personally, having had them, I would not buy a used Rev L. Nor would I buy a used Rev G unless (1) it was demonstrated in person to work well, and (2) it was <$20.

David,
Who told you this is the last run of MTH remotes?
Thanks,
