Here is our new structure from River Leaf Models - Ball Breakers Pool Hall!

Breakers-01

Breakers-02

Breakers-03

Ball Breakers is our first corner structure allowing you to build scenes now going up the side street. This structure is two stories with "Dirk Diggler Private Eye" taking the second floor. The footprint is a small 5.00" x 5.00" and the height is 6.25" to the top of the cornice. The kit features full brick on both outside faces, signage, etched frosted window glass bearing the Ball Breakers name on both downstairs windows. Your kit includes everything you see here - doors, windows, window glass, lintels, cornice, corbelings below the cornice and signs. Vehicles, lampposts, figures are not included.

Like all River leaf models, the structure is laser cut from 1/4" thick MDF to ensure strength, durability and squareness. Basic construction is seven pieces - four walls, roof and two inset walls for the entrance. Everything else is details. You can build this structure in one sitting. The MDF lends itself to fast drying of paint.

Ball Breakers comes with the Ball Breakers signage on both downstairs windows and Dirk Diggler on the second floor. As an option, you can have plain glass. You can also have custom windows made with the business name of your choice for a nominal charge.

As you can see, Ball Breakers is a perfect compliment to other River Leaf downtown buildings, creating a gritty inner city look.

Ball Breakers is priced at $94.95 as described. For a limited time - until July 24, 2015, you can have your very own Ball Breaker(s) for the introductory price of $89.95 AND FREE SHIPPING!

If you like to add interiors, we have also developed a scale pool table kit:

Pooltable-02

To keep the cost of Ball Breakers low, we have not included the pool tables, as not everyone makes interiors, so the Pool Tables are a separate sale item. Here is the kit you will receive:

Pooltable-01

The pool table is simple sandwich construction and can be assembled in minutes.

Pool tables are available in sets of two for $25.00 for two and SHIPPING IS FREE.

SPECIAL OFFER - If you order Ball Breakers, you can purchase your pool table sets for $15.00 per set of two tables. We think Ball Breakers will accommodate four tables.

This corner building can be the center piece of a downtown scene. If you don't have a Ball Breaker(s) around, get one of your own today!

Ball Breakers and the Pool Tables will be available for website ordering tomorrow, but email me at andreemd@gmail.com to place your order in the meantime. We're starting the first production run tomorrow to fill the first orders. You can have your very own Ball Breaker(s) by the weekend, as we ship by Priority Mail.

A pool hall doesn't ring my chimes, so I am studying it to see what other business use

would be appropriate for that structure.  Any ideas out there?  The large second story windows inply a business up there needing light, but...what business?  An architect or....dentist or...photo potrait studio...?  What does the rear look like...stairs up, or ? I would expect a cathedral model, which sounds large, would also be expensive.  There is one small church kit available, but it is so small as to be unbelievable (bell tower does not "work", either). It is a frame building...a better "country" church would be welcome.

Andre,

That building is another winner!!!  It would work great on that empty corner on my layout that I showed you the photo on FaceBook!  I don't know if River City could stand having a pool hall in it however.  Harold Hill has already disembarked the train.    I will have to think of a name for the signage before I order.  I like Dirk Diggler.  Clive Cussler's Issac Bell is my favorite detective.  There are a lot of trains in his stories.  More thinking needed.

July 24th is now on my calendar!!

Nice work on this one.

One question....sidewalk included??

Hi Dave:

Sidewalk is not included simply because everyone has different ideas/sizes for sidewalks. Instead of trying to make a sidewalk to accommodate everyone, let us know what size you need and we can make it for you. The round corner sidewalks really make a difference on corner scenes.

Very beautiful building! I can see myself adding one to my layout as long as there is an alternate window option. "Ball Breakers" is probably more funny to my Poker buddies than it is to my wife and daughter. All of them would have trouble following the joke behind the "Dirk Diggler Private Eye" reference. What does a fictitious 80's Male Pornstar have to do with Model Railroading? But, putting that aside, your new building is very well done. Congrats!

Hi,

The options are many. You can order the building with the windows shown, order blank windows with no additional cost, or you can order the windows engraved with your choice of business name for an additional charge of $5.00. if you decide to engrave 2 windows in the bottom with the same name and the top one with a different name, I will charge you $10.00 total.

Andre.

Sure way to change the business, by this easy way of window names. Might even get one more later and make it a Gunshop.

A comment regarding the name of the business. In my younger days I was a biker and spent a fair amount of time shooting pool (it's a biker thing), and I also was night manager of a bowling alley that had a pool hall as a side attraction. The term "pool hall" is a colloquial expression and I don't recall ever seeing it on a sign for a pool hall. The sign always said "Billiards" or sometimes "Pocket Billiards" which is the proper name for pool.

I don't want to be a critic here; it's a great looking building kit and if I had room on my layout I'd probably buy one myself. Just wanted to pass along my experience. Hope you sell plenty of them.

Now that I think of it, "Ball Breakers Billiards" might even sound better. Just a thought.
