The Baltimore Society of Model Engineers invites the Potomac Division membership to their 81st birthday party on March 3, 2013. The BSME is a life member of the NMRA.
Fellow Modelers: You are invited to attend the 81st anniversary party of the Baltimore Society of Engineers on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m. The celebration will be held at the club on the 3rd Floor of 225 West Saratoga Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
Our downtown location is half a block from the Lexington Street light-rail station, and one and a half blocks from the Lexington Market subway station.
This is a casual affair for adults and children, so please feel free to bring your kids and spouses. We will have a buffet style lunch with deli sandwiches, chips, potato salad, cole slaw, drinks and various desserts.While attendance is free, the BSME greatly appreciates any donation to help defray our costs, especially if you will be dining with us.
Our O-scale (2-rail) and HO layouts will be operating all afternoon,and visitors are invited and encouraged to bring their equipment for operation on our layouts. The O-scale trolley runs off the overhead.The HO layout is using NCE DCC, but we have a limited number of throttles, so feel free to bring yours, just put your name on it for easy identification. We have standardized on kadee or compatible couplers in both scales. You also may simply bring your models for display. Throughout the afternoon rail videos will be shown in our club room for your viewing pleasure. Also available to challenge your mind will be a time saver switching layout inspired by John Allen. We will have a brief ceremony at approximately 2:30 pm after which we will cut our 81st anniversary cake.
