I'm trying to help out a widow is has found enjoyment running her late husband's trains.  Here is here question, followed by my response.  What I recommended did not work.  Any other thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  It is the Legacy system.

Thank you!

Question:  "My base that I operate with my hand, says, can not locate base.  I was running the train and wanted to stop it and it would not obey my command, just keep on running. So I had to turn it off at the switch, hope I did not mess anything up. If you get a chance, maybe you could walk me through it , hope it is nothing serious. I did change the batteries, but did not do anything. Hope you and your family are doing well."

Reply:  (my suggestion that I copied from another thread somewhere with a similar topic)

"1. Power down the handheld remote

2. Remove the batteries

3. Unplug the base that the handheld remote sits on

4. Let it sit for a little bit (several minutes)

5. Plug the base back in

6. Put the batteries back in and repower the remote.

7. If that doesn't work we'll probably need to reload the base software.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if that solved the problem."

Again, it did not work for her.  I'm not sure what version it is, but I believe it would be the original version that it was shipped out with or maybe one update.
