So I’ve finally had the opportunity to complete my donught style bench work. The final dimensions are 12’ x 8’ with three of the four sides having a 24” table top and the third side having a 30” table top.

The track plan will consist of a double main line loop with one siding on one 12’ x 24” section and two sidings on the 12’ x 30” section. My focus will be on scenery so I’ve decided to go with 4 inches of foam insulation board (two 2” pink sheets) glued directly to the plywood using an insulation board specific adhesive (Loctite PL300).

I would like to know if there’s anything that I should do before securing the foam insulation board to the plywood.

I’ve run a loop of MTH realtrax directly on the plywood and am ok with the amount of noise generated by a 15 car consist. I don’t imagine using Ross sectional track on foam board insulation will be any noisier so that does not concern me.

If you’re wondering, I intend to have a zero grade track with sloping scenery. The 4 inches of foam board is to accommodate space beneath a bridge.

If more detail is needed please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
