Wanted to let everyone know we've been made aware of the sites ShopTrainz.shop and Trainzus.shop that have stolen our branding and copied many of our listings. We think the purpose of these sites is to steal credit card numbers and personal information. We've issued a takedown request but that will take time.

You've gotten too big Scott, so they're coming after you.
Well Scott I guess this means you have made the big time.
@MELGAR posted:I placed an order and received a confirmation on Friday afternoon, August 25th. Are you processing, packing and shipping orders today?
Edit: Just received notification that shipment is on the way.

Hopefully by now you have received a tracking number. We have shipped over 1100 orders today. If not, it will go our tomorrow. Sometimes on Mondays we don't get 100% out like we do every other day of the week.
Scott, I'd recommend that you file a complaint with ICANN (https://www.icann.org/compliance/complaint).

Well, they are not after us, it is our customers, or people like our customers. If a deal is too good to be true, it probably is ... They really just want your credit card. They will then use it to go buy gift cards, usually at Lowes and Home Depot - they are easy to resell.
These domains are registered in Burkina Faso in West Africa.

Thanks, We will look into that too.
I see that Trainzus.shop is still up, the other one is gone.
Thanks for staying on top of this and letting people know. Good luck getting the scam taken down. Unfortunately, the folks who really need to know probably won't see your message, and the scammers will just move on to another victim.
Also, the registrar is Public Domain Registry you can file a complaint with them for a fraudulent registration here: https://publicdomainregistry.com/report-abuse-2/
Thanks. We have already done that too.
ARGH
I've been dealing with you since my first Z gauge DCC layout back in 2009. Thanks for posting this, you have a great rep and thieves are just trying to take advantage of it!
Bummer. Thanks for updating us and thank you Scott!
In the curiosity killed the cat dept., a search brought up several links to it, and none of those worked. Looks like it has been taken down already.
Neither one of those domains are up now. It looks like they are both gone already.
Good! I think the second one was was taken down yesterday sometime. Glad to see that the places that are supposed to take them down do work.
Thanks for the heads up, Scott!
This is why we can't have nice things !!
Always go to web sites directly by entering the correct address and never click on links.
Yep, about 10 years ago I stupidly responded to an online invoice to pay my annual fee for Amazon, with my credit card.
Two days later, $1,400 was "cash withdrawn" from the card in the Bahamas!
Happily, the credit card company removed the charge, and I think that either it or the bank got stuck with the $1,400 loss.
