I don’t know why I’ve been drawn to English market Bings, but I have. I think my goal in life will be to NOT break real any springs(ha!) Although I’m sure if I do, they may be easier to fix(maybe a clock shop?) than most modern toys

Enjoy! @Elgaucho :  If this area is one of your interests, I would recommend you join us on the "Tinplate Photos" site.  You will find a number of clockwork enthusiasts there as well as some real expertise in the early German tinplate like Bing.  OBTW just so you don't think I am bragging, I don't count myself in either of those categories.  I have no Bing locomotives but here are some of my clockwork.

American Flyer "Hummer" about 1924 (some versions as early as 1918)

American Flyer Hummer loco front quarter

American Flyer type 16 die cast about 1923-26

American Flyer type 16 A.F. 16 loco 1923-26

Brimtoy (UK) "Britania" 1950's

Brimtoy Britannia side view w tender

Brimtoy "Silver Streak" late 1930's

Brimtoy SS 1

Dressler (postwar Germany) this one is labeled "Made in Germany, U.S. zone"  early 1950's

Dressler loco and tender side view

French Hornby type MO - early to middle 1950's

French Hornby MO set - loco

And of course..."KING" of the wind up train in US , Marx. Marx #4000 Seaboard FM clockwork A unit.

Well that's if for me...best wishes and do come join us on the "Tinplate" thread

Elgaucho, here's another variation for you to pursue - Bing clockwork for the English market but sold under the trade name Vedes

1920_Bing_Vedes_CW

Vedes2

VEDES is short for Vereinigung Deutscher  Spielwarenhändler. Which is a trade organization that specializes in sales to the leisure and hobby market – literally “play and leisure.”  The organization was founded in 1904 in Leipzig and moved its main headquarters to Nürnberger in 1929.  They took the name “VEDES” in 1920 and their first trademark was a Christmas tree with 3 candles and the name “VEDES” at the base – the trademark on the box lid of this train set.

Based on what I was able to find and translate from the German version of Wikipedia it would appear that VEDES is something like Montgomery Wards and, at least the as far as the Bing trains are concerned the marketing would be something akin to the American Flyer Nationwide Lines

Thanks Don! Your American flyer locos (especially the hummer) are wonderful!

For the Tinplate Photo thread suggestion, I'm aware of this thread but do you know if there's any talk of "reversing" the order of the posts(comments) shown,, so the latest posts are seen "first"? (Currently you have to go to Page 44 to see the latest post and scroll upwards)
