What about the BNSF heritage locomotive models announced in the Lionel catalog?
Are they just fake fantasy painting schemes for collectors?

The Lionel versions are all fantasy. BNSF doesn't have any real fantasy schemes, unless you count all the old stuff that hasn't been repainted yet.
Great subject, but what about Great Northern in several paint schemes, Northern Pacific also in several paint schemes, SP&S, add C&S lettering to the Q engines.
And how about one with Warren Buffett's photo on the side, with the logo for Berkshire Hathaway?
