That looks like a scratch build, and if so, it looks good. How did you form the body?
Brad,
The car you show is not a Pfaudler GPEX car. It is a Borden Company rebuild of an earlier car after the original wood body gave out. Borden had a number of these particular cars in various colors and lettering schemes. Many had reporting marks like 'BFIX', not GPEX. You can find some information in a Yahoo group called 'milktrains' and also from a series of articles that were in RMC back in the spring of 1986.Bob Mohowski wrote a classic book on milk trains on the O&W around the same period. The Illinois Railway Museum has preserved one in a white body and blue frame, that has black lettering. There is far more to the Borden car story than these brief comments can cover. Since you have more than one model, it would be good to research the subject further to enhance your choices.

Ben,
thank you; I have borden decals for this car--- I also have two overland GPEX and a couple Pac Ltd MDT reefers---one I am painting in milk service. I believe I have proper decals for the borden car; can you offer guidance for the overland models by chance?
Thanks,
Brad
Brad,
Ben is probably the most knowledgeble person when it comes to milk cars. He has long and extensive experience on the subject.
Photos of General American Pfaudler steel milk cars are fairly common online. I have both the PSC and Overland models. There have been two styles of decal sets available for these cars, unfortunately both are quite difficult to come by, though Ben may have a lead on how to find one.
Here is a quick photo of the PSC car, with a set of Walthers decals above, showing the two styles. The decal set style is common to the wood Pfaudler milk car, but has shown up on steel cars too.

There were a couple of paints schemes for these cars.
I liked these cars since first seeing an HO one and then a Flyer one. But I have always
wondered where these cars ran...were they confined to the Northeast as I suspect, or
did they get nationwide? Were they running in and out of Denver and L.A.? I have guessed not. That confinement has kept me from acquiring one.....beyond that first Flyer version.
Brad,
First we have to identify the model style itself, not which manufacturer made it. Some of the schemes are car specific. This could get a bit detailed, so I would suggest you contact me offline by using the member profile info and I will see what I can do.
