Except when the shop forces had to open that front door in order to do maintenance, or make repairs, inside the smokebox.
These engines weren’t successful and didn’t last long on the B&M. Most gone during WWII and the rest scrapped. What I don’t understand is for the most part these were exact copies (other than the location of the feed water heater) of the B&A berks, which were very successful.
Neat film. What's with the very narrow cupolas on the cabooses ? I've not seen cabooses with cupolas quite like that.
