Brasseur's has always been great. I was never at their store, but ordered parts and other things over the years. K-line parts several times. Sad loss to the hobby. Wish them a happy retirement!
Big loss for the hobby. Wish them well.
any word on if someone is buying the inventory and taking over the business perhaps?
Happy for the Brasseur family with best wishes .
Sad day for train folks.

Apparently Dean Brasseur may be opening a repair business in NC, stay tuned. That can't be a coincidence.
This was one of my favorite spots to travel to whenever I've needed a "mental health" day, largely because of work pressures. (BTW -- As I approach retirement I seem to have these more and more often.)
So, usually about once a year I'd make the trip up to Saginaw from the Detroit area. It's a nice drive, especially in the summer with good weather.
I don't think that I helped keep them in business while they've been open, because I haven't visited often enough, but I'd like to thank Bob and the crew just for being there. I know they've been an important part of our hobby in the Saginaw area for all of those 50+ years.
Thanks for a job exceedingly well done. Enjoy that much-deserved rest. We'll save any sadness that comes with this announcement for another day.

Anyone heard anything about their new repair shop in NC?
I had a TMCC control crane at the Saginaw shop for 3 months that was returned to me with no work done after it shut down. The guys in NC seemed to have a very good reputation so I called them up. I talked to one of the Brasseurs, forget which one. I asked how long it would take, and while he wouldnβt commit he did say there was 6 projects already there. He implied I may get it before Thanksgiving. I did send it there.

Are the parts that disappeared from the Lionel website there?
I found searching the internet a link that indicates an online auction and liquidation will be taking place mid to late November. See link: http://www.wegnerauctioneers.c...tric-trains-inc.html
Satisfied customers (me included) from sales and service through many years created the legacy of Brasseur Electric Trains.
