Really cool engine Pelago, I have the Strasburg version, runs great and it's a beefy looking little locomotive.

I've pondered buying one of those 0-8-0's for a while. It's kind of like a fancier version of the cheap 0-8-0's that come with so many Lionel starter sets.

It is one very good little engine. I run mine a lot. You made a very good choice.
The TMCC 0-8-0 engines are nice. Great sound, 4 chuffs and a whistle that changes pitch every time you hit the button.
I have the NYC version, the "gap" issue I need to fix...
tremendous photographs, in fact you have given me a idea (yeah gonna steal it) I have a section of new layout that is in the 'thought' stage, have the track layed down in marker pen and have some landscaping completed but have a section that will need some work, yours is absolutely TREMENDOUS, FANTASTIC JOB, In fact can not wait to show my bride, she has had some good ideas and some good input.
all i can say is wow.
Nothing wrong with a new toy!
Congratulations on your new engine.
Pretty nice loco for the price....I like mine!!
Nothing like a new engine. Good luck with it.
J Daddy - Love your scenery work, very nicely done. Makes a dramatic statement and is realistic looking. The weathering on your engine is first rate too.

That looks great J Daddy! I love the way you finished off the bench work, it makes you feal like you could walk right into the scene and start scaling the mountain.
J Daddy, stunning scenery work! Fabulous!!!

Thanks for the compliments. It was a lot of cast plaster work but worth it.
I also added a front to the benchwork to compliment the rock face""
did you use the carving plaster, just ordered some, any hints or things i need to know
Oh yeah... had a whole thread on it somewhere...
I used patching plaster for the rock molds... mix only what you need... first batch I made I had perfect mold of a... bucket.
I like the foam supports with paper towls draped over the foam... works best, light weight, and goes quickly

not sure what this part refers to
"I like the foam supports with paper towls draped over the foam... works best, light weight, and goes quickly" sorry but not at all familiar with this
Nice good engine enjoy it.
Good looking engine. If one became available in Milwaukee Road colors I might buy one. Even though I have a good sized layout, those smaller steam engines still look great running on them.

First you establish a base for your "wall"
Then cut your foam length wise and glue them domino style
Next take paper towels soaked in plaster and drape them over the carved foam.
Then paint with acrylic paints.
Add ground foam and rock castings as you required.
Here are a few pics:
what a bummer, got a call from the dealer i purchased the engine. Base for the call was he had inadvertently made a error on his listing. He had offered it with TMCC and that is what i wanted, however it in fact did not have tmcc
cancelled the order
