I was looking for an easy alternative for building fronts that I could use on my shelf/wall layout.  I came across houses and accessories from Sheil'a Collectibles. They are wooden historic buildings only an 1" or so thick, and in a huge variety of shapes and sizes. They are not very expensive and can be found on the typical auction sites. Here are some quick pics of how I plan on using them.

Nice buildings!1 they suit the space very well. You might want to consider placing some greenery for the illusion of a hill. Simply get some 1/2 foam insulation board shape the top to look like a hilly terrain then add on some clump foliage. please post some more pictures as this progresses
