So I went to Hershey Park for my union's annual picnic. For this year, Hershey Entertainment updated the Free Chocolate World "Factory Tour" again (last time was ten years ago.) This time the "boxcar delivering" the Coco beans was gone along with the video clip of the now older unloading process done back in the last century. In fact 70% of the old mechanical automations on how chocolate is made is now GONE! All replaced by computer graphics (cg) even at the end of the ride where they referenced Hershey Chocolate and that catchy tune along with the Chicago El are all GONE!

Sorry to hear that, but I am still going to buy their chocolate.
Yes to our dismay during our June trip the simulated boxcar unloading area is gone. The ride has been streamlined for higher profits.
As a side note, most of the products originally made at the Hershey manufacturing plant in PA are now Made in Mexico. Since we do not eat foreign made food (due to health risks), this brand is no longer in our home. We now eat Ghiardelli Chocolate that is still made in the USA.
Well, it is CHOCOLATE WORLD, NOT TRAIN WORLD! The thing was conceived years ago to replace tours of the factory. A factory tour would have been interesting, but what I recall seeing was LAME, and one time through it was one too many, boxcar or not.

I seem to remember sitting in a parking lot near the factory with my family watching NS crews switch tank cars of various chocolate ingredients to the plant. Talk about authentic
