Dad will love it
I picked up this flatcar with bulkheads on the bay. Just what I needed to replace my PW flatcar.

Bob,
That's a great looking car and pay load and a great looking setting you've put it in. Kudos on all accounts!

BTW, MTH still sells PS1 Smoke Units.

Thank you sir! Just found it on their site. I actually fiddled around with the original smoke unit. Got it to run off a single heat element with straight track power. The circuit board was dead on the low side element. I may still look into a fan driven unit. Thanks for the heads up!
At least this next consist is a Union Pacific! Got a great deal for the this 90's LTI Dash 8 from a fellow forum member! Super clean unit. I just cleaned out all the baby poop brown grease, cleaned up the gears, and put some red and tacky in the right spots. Didn't have any unibody tankers , so I took advantage of Trainz 10% sale. Along with a smoking UP caboose! It just brings me back to the 90's when I could only dream of being able to afford a dash 8.
"Smokin" hot in a good why. congrats
These were delivered yesterday. Just to be different I videoed the new box cars rolling down the track rather than static photos. These are all nicely detailed models, I'm pleased. And my first white box car, which in the real world probably didn't stay white for long! LoL
Okay, weird right, Lehigh Valley box cars on a western railroad. Probably not likely, but I got them because my son is off to Lehigh College, Bethlehem, PA this fall to pursue an EE degree. It's his freshman year, and I thought it would be nice to have a reminder of him on my layout.

Very nice Scott. IIRC there's a nice little railroad that used to run in those parts....you may want to look for some of their equipment to pull those cars.....

Have you driven by the Railyards recently. Frequently I drive down the 10 Freeway here in Cali. alongside the old SP yards, and I see some stuff you wouldn't necessarily believe. About a year ago I saw an actual Caboose. wasn't long before that, A feather Western Pacific, boxcar. Anything can happen anywhere. The railroads have an empty car, as long as it runs and there is a load for it, it gets run. By the way great looking car.

Excellent idea of the video Scott.
That slower speed allows a good look at each of the boxcars. Nice.

Very nice, what are you going to use for the motive power
I picked up two tank cars on the bay. The first was listed as boxed. When I looked at the box end I saw that it was the wrong box. When I pointed it out; the seller replied with a 50% off offer. How could I refuse?
I think that the second car is unique. I’ve never seen it before. It was made by KLine.
I’m not sure that it’s the correct fireman because his arms are poised as if he is holding a hose.
Does the -98 on the proof of purchase mean that it was made in ‘98. I would like to see a catalog listing of this item.
These arrived from the for sale board, got to love fellow forum members!
And now for the cool thing that was just dropped off:
Another addition to my MTH rolling stock. I’m pleased with the quality and variety of the MTH premier products.

I picked up these two pickle cars from another forumite. Then I saw the box car on the bay. I read and interesting article on another hobby forum. Someone questioned if Heinz actually shipped pickles that way. It turns out that Heinz labeled them pickle cars for the advertising value. They actually shipped cucumbers to the processing plant. They weren’t pickles till they were processed. I think I have enough pickle cars for now since I also have some of those Heinz great KLine billboard reefers. After all how many pickles can a pickle packer pack in a proper pickle pack?

How many cabooses can a cracked caboose collector cram in a cramped collectible curved configuration?
Well...

Sounds good Bob. Probably would be expensive though...........the proper billing and ownership documents would have to be drawn up by Arnold D. Cribari .

I went to The Train Doctors open house and parking lot sale this morning.
One of the vendors had these on his table with a sign 40’ cars $20 I asked if there was a volume discount for the 3. He said $50; to which I replied $45. He said sold. So I picked up 3 cars for 1/2 the price of 1. I always wanted a West India Fruit and Steamship Co car. Now I have 3 different numbers.
When we went inside I spied this car with a heavy price tag. There was a sign that everything was 15% off. I go way back with Rem and was looking for a better deal. I got 30% off. I was an “Airdale” in the Navy and never set foot on a ship even though our aircraft had a tail hook; but I couldn’t leave this car behind.
Oh there was also complementary coffee and donuts.
Not good , just fantastically great catch. Tears in my eyes
