Just curious what forumites prefer when buying in the secondary market in either the OGR Forum 4-Sale page or e-bay .  Would you prefer to see freight cars listed for sale as a consist, or listed individually? I recently listed a set of 12 Weaver coal cars 4-sale as a consist but no hits. Your input is greatly appreciated.

About half of my locos I bought used.

I had too many bad experieinces with e-bay to use it anymore.  People lie, don't ship what they promise, etc.

I buy a lot of used from trainz.com (their actual site or their own auctions) or by perusing e-bay and paying attention only to bigger sellers - those who have a brick and mortor commercial address.  I then often call the store and place the order by phone, or go to their own website and order.

In the case of 12 cars where the only difference is the number, it does make a lot of sense to be willing to sell any or all of them.  In the case of something that really is supposed to stay a "set", like the Lionel "Northern Pacific Freight Set" or one of the 6464 box car sets it can make it significantly harder for the seller to sell the rest of the cars.
