cab 1, croaked, what ? wait on Legacy

The latest update on availability of the #990 Legacy Set is JULY. I'd say wait, as you won't be disappointed. Why don't you buy a CAB1 to get you by, if you know for sure that is the problem, and not your Base. I've seen them up for Sale from time to time on this FORUM for as little as 50 to 60 Dollars AND just so you know, Lionel lowered the Price to $299.95. There are several Dealers on this Forum that will take your Pre-Order

The Cab1L/ Base 1L system is out already, if u can't wait, but the full Legacy system is better. "Good things come to those who wait" as the saying goes

Lionel has already raised the 2014 price for the Legacy command set #6-14295. Went from $349.95 to $399.95 MSRP. So they probably won't go up again til next year anyway. Just hope they ship them before 2015 (and they don't wear them out fiddling with them before they finally ship).

Wait for the Legacy unit.

If you want to get rolling right away, a Cab 1 L remote and a Cab 1 L base will fill the bill nicely.  The Cab 1 L remote will be very familiar.  It looks like a blue Cab 1 except the innards are totally new and modern and able to do much of what a Cab 2 can do with Legacy locomotives.

After you get your 990, you can still use your Cab 1 L remote with the Cab 2 base as an extra controller for friends and family to operate with your Cab 2 remote.

Just a thought.
