I have a Cab 2 remote which has been operating OK till now. Lately it seems to be acting up with erratic communication with locomotives. It runs the gambit from slow communication, runaways, no communication , feedback button sticking etc. I have cleaned the track, reset the locos ,checked all connections, checked ground, and put fresh batteries in the hand held and cleaned the battery connectors. The past two days the blue light on the base keeps flashing  continuously and the communication light on my TPC 400 keeps flashing even though there is no locomotive on the track, even while the red dial is completely dialed back.I seem to be able to stop it by resetting the handheld but I seem to have to do so many times during a run.It seems the handheld is communicating full steam to the base.I continually reset the handheld, and this works for a while. Is  it even possible I could open it up and see if anything is loose?I am running Version 1.52 software. Everything works fine when I use my  back up TMCC CAB 1. DCS works great so I know signals are getting to the track. When I start up a legacy locomotive with Cab 2 it scrolls up to full speed on its own without me touching the red wheel.

Should  send this one back , it is about 3 years old but have not had any issues with it until now and I am willing to pay Lionel to fix it. Before I do this is there something I am missing. Appreciate any help.Al

In my case it is the direction button. The brake/boost works ok.

A little plastic safe contact cleaner will get it working again. But the problem returns

after a day or so.

I think a (long)trip to Ohio is in my Legacy system's future.

Lucky I kept my TMCC base. I'll have to wire up DCS to run TMCC, have the cable but never connected it up to try that feature.
