Hi all,

I don't know if this is the right place or not, but I sent my Cab 2 in for repair to Lionel (received it on Monday).  It was no longer charging.  I've never sent anything back to Lionel repair.  I'm sure they frown upon calling in to check the status.  Does anyone know what the typical turnaround is on a repair? Maybe it depends on the repair.?

And many thanks again to Marty E for the update at spring York!

took mine 3 weeks

I sent a 990 Legacy Set ( including the Base & CAB2) into Lionel, for a very close friend, to have the Hardware and Software Upgraded. He had purchased it when they first were released.  He didn't have a Layout, at the time, so it had never bothered to do any of the Upgrades. Now he has started his Layout and asked me to take care of it for him. I called Lionel Service and explained the situation to them, so they sent me a FedEx label to return it. I sent it 7/31 and they returned it on 8/14. The only problem is they sent it to the WRONG Address in Omaha, NE. I moved in November of last year to Mapleton, IA (90 Miles away).  At that time I sent an E-Mail to Lionel informing them of my new address and confirmed it. I have purchased several items since then, with no problem! They sent the 990 Set to my previous address in Omaha!! Not only was it delivered, but signed for at that address!! I called the Service Dept. and explained to them I enclosed a Letter explaining the Service required and included my NEW Address and a Business Card as well in the box. They said they have changed their policy now and just forward the Repairs to the Shipping Dept., who do not read the Letters. They go by your Return Address in the Data Base! They said I should have given my change of Address to the Shipping Dept. as well, when I changed it in my Profile with Lionel. Evidently the "TWO" Data Bases don't talk to each other!!! It's going on almost TWO Weeks now , and I still do not have the 990. When I call them, they tell me they are having FedEx pick it up at the Omaha Address to send it to me here in Mapleton.  So far I have NOT received it. SO FAIR WARNING:  If you send in a 990 (or any thing else for Service) and have moved since your last Service or Repair, call the SHIPPING DEPT. to make sure they have your NEW Address.

Sincerely,

Fredstrains
