I have made a couple of inquiries here about the most durable and reliable Cab for TMCC and Legacy. The impression seems to be that the CAB1L is the best choice to replace my failing CAB1s. I have, by the way attempted to contact Dale Manquin about whether he still services Cabs, but got no response. My final concern before starting to replace my Cab1S with Cab1Ls is to determine whether the 1l uses the same system to operate the number keys as the Cab1 or if the 1L uses an improved system. With one exception, all of my Cab1 failures have been loss of response to various number keys. I have disassembled the remotes and cleaned the pads with less than impressive success. Bottom line!! is the 1L improved mechanically over the Cab1? If not, I may be inclined to investigate the WiFi technology to do away with the Cabs all together. Although the smart phones and associated technology represents a very big investment, if that's what it takes to get really reliable operation I may go that route. After working on my layout for 15 years, I am finally ready to declare it done and devote my time to operating. In the absence of a truly reliable control system, I might be inclined to tear out all the TMCC equipment and revert to conventional control. All opinions welcome.
