Would someone tell me if those cabooses with the swinging lantern man are still available? If someone has a source that is even better.

First I've heard of something like that, would like to have one, provided it's not a
scale 12-foot giant as in the 'blue gateman'.

MTH makes/made the "caboose w/operating signal man" in many road names. However, the last release was in 2011. I have a C&O version from the last release.
I bought a lionel lines one many years ago and they are great. They come with two bulbs. One for running conventionally and another if running under command control.
I think your best bet is to look on ebay. Here are a few I found to get you started:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL...;hash=item25a2d91e0f
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel...;hash=item54129e114b
Some of these were in the 2005 - 2007 catalogs so I doubt any dealers will still have any left.
If you get lucky you may find one at a train show or swap meet.
MTH website shows that some sellers still have some but I don't know how accurate there site is. I will have to call them as none of them have websites and they are all on the East Coast.
Grampstrains,
If you would happen to have a 2nd Christmas Caboose with the swinging Lantern man, I would very much like to purchase it from you, if you would consider selling it..

Gramps,
Major bummer!

You mean Unique Arts Bennie the Brakeman???
Lionel made them in several road names plus a Santa Christmas caboose. This was an
original American Flyer item adapted to Lionel. I have six if them and they work great.
I was only familiar with the AF S gauge original, pretty cool that Lionel brought it out for O.
Hello,
I have the MTH scale caboose with the brakeman that tips out with the lighted lantern.

I would sell it for $80.00. It is like new with very little run time. If you would like it you can email me at
time4trains@live.com
thanks
Do not trust the website. They had a AT&SF Bobber Caboose and I called a hobby shop that had the last one ever, lucky to get it and it is the tiniest box you will ever see that is for a train car.
I believe SideTrack Hobbies has the Lionel Lines animated caboose in stock. $47
