I have an MTH Camelback running DCS v.5. I believe it is the 3.3V board as the tender has the 3/2 rail switch. The locomotive had set on the shelf for about 6 months. When I started it up with the Protosound remote, the sound level (volume) was very weak. It had been fine. Checked the remote and sound was set to 100%, I checked the potentiometer on the tender and it was set to max, the DCS remote said the battery was ok. Nonetheless  I charged the battery with the MTH charger and the sound level is now back up. My question is: why did charging the battery resolve the problem? And is the battery "OK" from the DCS remote reliable?

Thanks,

Rick
