Thank you Rudy, but I know about this beauty, because I looked at the list for the ARA 1923 designed X-29 boxes for the Pennsy and saw this N.Y.C.S. Ry. car.

Researching the X-29's of the Pennsy gave me knowledge of the car's dimensions for its somewhat greater capacity, other than the 36' cars and the 29's low profile for traversing tunnels, especially into Manhattan, N.Y.C., N.Y.S.

The Pennsy's LCL 'Merchandise Service Fleet,' at first used X-29's and modified X-29's, for its 'Tunnel' low profile, especially for the Merchandise Mecca-N.Y.C., and other Metropolis,' with tunnels.  These Pennsy LCL cars were fitted with speed trucks, for head end passenger trains, or "Block' freight runs.
The Penny's, and other RR's., X-29's for 'General Service' had regular freight trucks, as needed by those RR's.

There are plenty of folks on this forum who can tell you more and have a lot more RR. and Model RR. knowledge, than me.

They're great, very friendly and very helpful.

Ralph-RJL
