I am the second owner of a fairly new MTH engine that had been programed into DCS by the previous owner. I can program the locomotive into DCS, but it won't start up or move when selected. It runs fine in conventional mode, but would like to use it with DCS. Any advise would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

Main requirement: What is the item number????
The remote and engine accepted set-up but it doesn't respond? I've never seen one where the remote accepts a "dead" MTH engine. Is it your only DCS engine? Is the selecting the correct TIU? Set for DCC?
If it's PS-3 Ihad a similar situation. Found out there is a switch on the bottom that needs to be set to be in DCS mode. Maybe that's why???

Lets try something simple. Since it runs in conventional, do a feature reset in conventional. Press 1 horn, 5 bells, about 1/2 second between presses. Do not wait for the horn to stop blowing before you hit the bell button, that interval is then too long. If successful, the train horn should give you 2 blasts. Then delete it from the remote/app, reload and try again.
If you have the item number, what is it? Depends if its PS2 or PS3

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We will give them a try.
How do you program into remote? When you have it in remote and hit startup what does the remote do, and respond with? If it can't communicate with engine it would respond with out of range most likely. Also since in remote you could try a factory or feature reset with remote. G
