DCS can handle as many remotes as you care to use, although the nominal limit is 16 since they can be numbered 0-15.

One thing of which you should be aware is that you need to add your PS2 and PS3 engines to each remote so that each engine has the same DCS ID# in all of the remotes to which it is added.

Otherwise, only remotes where the engine same DCS ID# as the engine received the last time it was added, will be able to operate the engine.

This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!

Barry,

thanks for responding, it is a pleasure to make your cyber acquaintance.

I actually intend to pick up a copy of your book, thank you for the link.

in your response you mention that the ID#'s need to be the same,  does that mean that the sequence of engines in the list should be the same >  engine #1 RS-3 RK  should be listed the same on each remote?

I suggest you use one remote for adding locos.  They will automatically add in the next available ID slot.  This assigns ID numbers and names in the locos.  Then add them to the other remotes, which will keepo them in the same slots.  Another alternative is to use the DCS loader software cloning program to get all remotes identical.  This is the best way, if you want the soft key assignments to be identical in each remote.

I use 3 remotes, as I have 6 grandchildren.  I did place an eyebolt in one to hold a lanyard, which goes about the neck of the youngest.  A remote smashed on a floor is a terrible sight.

RJR, that has happened already, and thank god the remote is fine...
