Starting new thread as previous thread had too many different ideas going on.
Revision I TIU (DCS version 5.0 on both TIU and REMOTE) powered from Z4000 to FIXED IN. Then FIXED OUT to track. Red to center rail; black to outside rail.
TIU blinks once; Remote set to TIU 1.
RESET REMOTE AND TIU.
READ finds TIU 1 and no active engines.
Tried to add DCS engine that I know works. NO ENGINE TO ADD.
How do I get this set up to add engines?

Ok , I would cycle power to the tiu & remote before doing anything, then I suppose we have to make sure the dcs signal is turned on with.... Menu/DCS set up/ AON (turns signal on to all channels)
I would use a small test track when trying to add ( you are)... Does the engine remain dark & silent when power is first applied indicating the engine is getting the watch dog signal.
Try a different channel fixed 2 is the easiest.
make sure tiu is turned with power to fixed 1 or an aux power supply.

There should be a form or list that is filled out so that the facts are kept straight. You (anyone) can't get correct answers if you don't answer the questions properly.
This can get out of hand with guesses and changes to the facts. It works, it doesn't work, I wasn't talking about that TIU.....,etc.
