I just updated my TIU to version 4.20 and had no problems. I then turned to update my remote, but ran into a wall. The software prompts me to press and hold the power button on the remote and hold it, which I do. It then asks me to click ready, which I do. It then says to press and hold the remote power button again, which I do. And it then asks me to click ready, which I also do. The whole process just starts again with nothing happening. I tried cycling the TIU power on and off and the jumper cable is no longer connected. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help.

So, I answered part of my problem. I did not have the proper phone cable. Ran to Radio Shack and purchased the recommended part. However, now that I am absolute certain I have all of the correct cables, the process is still not working. Now, when I get to the part of the process where the program asks me to press and hold the power button on the remote, I do so and nothing happens. I have disconnected and reconnected the cables and turned the power to the TIU on and off several times, but this does not help the situation. Still in need of some help. Thanks.

Very lucky indeed. I did this some years ago on a Rev G. Tiu at York.  It killed the TIU.  Reason for the message to make sure you are plugged into the right port. At first Mth did not think it caused the TIU failure but after they researched it further they concluded it was indeed the cause of the failure. Customer ended up with new TIU no cost to him.
