Dick,

Not all the Burlington E7 units EVER received the stainless steel side panels. As delivered, ALL the E7 units where painted "silver". Even when the Burlington began rebuilding E7 units in the West Burlington shops, not all the E7s received the rebuild/up-grade to stainless steel side panels. Thus, Sunset/3rd Rail/Golden Gate Depot has opted to offer ONLY those CB&Q E7A units, by specific road number, that retained their "silver painted" carbody side panels to the very end, i.e. NO stainless steel plateing.

Can you tell me if there is a specific silver? Is a Floquil, Scalecoat Accupaint?

Thanks to everyone else.

I have no idea what type of paint Scott Mann will have his factory, over in China, use nor what would match it here in the U.S.

I will try and find out what my buddy uses for CB&Q "silver" on the Williams E7 units I had him do for my layout.
I have used the Alclad2 system to simulate stainless on OMI brass E units.

I have also had them professionally plated and polished out with a satin top clear coat.

Be aware the CB&Q did NOT own any E7/8/9 B units.

I was checking out my E7 numbers and I was doing a Google search to see which E7's had stainless and to my surprise, I found the best answer here.  I did hit a number of other sites first.

Good job Erik!  Hot Water was correct, at least with my units, 3rd Rail/Golden Gate furnished numbers that never received stainless plating.

BTW the 2nd run has corrected the nose stripes ("grills").  The lines are now distinct.
