We had a small snafu in the planning stages. We had announced a special run of Baldwin VO-1000's in NS Navy, and MTH just announced they were doing SW1200 Cow-Calf sets in US Navy. While there has been some overlapping in other things that are being produced, these 2 engines were too similar, and both in a scheme that has a limited appeal to customers.
So MTH and I have agreed to change my special run of USN VO-1000's to Sierra Railroad.
To be honest, I've been wanting to do west coast shortlines. IDK if they have enough following to be economically viable, but I guess we are going to find out. No one else is doing any west of the rockies shortlines anyway..so thought its worth trying
So Sierra, in the classic reddish/brown and yellow will be the 1st.
Other Shortlines That I'd like to do:
Central Calif Traction
Mc Cloud River (already in the works)
SP&S (already in the works)
ST&E, SMVRR, M&ET, SN, OC&E, Albany and Eastern, Columbia Basin, Trona, Coos Bay, Quincy, Yolo, Yreka Western, Magma Arizona, San Manuel AZ, Copper Basin, Nevada Northern...... I want to start with the more "common carrier" roads, rather than the mining roads, which have a more limited appeal.
Also want to stick with RR's that have a real paint scheme, not a hogepoge of patch jobs (like old SJVR), and no G&W paint schemes..at least for now. Any other recommendations are welcome....but PLEASE, think about their desirability among the Model RR crowd. All will be made in 2 road numbers. I have to sell 30 pieces of each just to break even.
Anyone who pre-ordered our USN VO-1000, I will either refund your deposit, or U can change it over to the Railking almost scale SW-1200.
Thanks,
beth
