I searched for any announcement on the Forums, but did not see any.

Charles Augustine, who used to post frequently, but sold his trains and moved to Florida a year or so ago, passed away last week.

He favored the Pennsy, and posted a number of photos and videos of his layout.  He's being buried in New Jersey, where he lived most of his life.

Charley and I went to high school together (Camden Catholic class of 55)

We hooked up on this forum about 10 years ago when he noticed my name on a post.

We lived about 15 miles apart and began meeting twice a month for breakfast and running trains afterward at my house or his.He moved to Florida fall of 2014 we enjoyed each others company and I miss him.I will attend funeral on Friday.

Oh my God. This is terrible news. When I was part of a 2 rail club he used to stop by once in a while to talk trains. He invited me over to his house to see his layout. His house was cool. He had trains in the living room! (He was single) He had a nice layout in the basement. When he was selling his trains I bought two ZWs, an MPC FA, and some older two rail cars that were converted to 3 rail. I bought him lunch that day and we had a nice time talking trains. I asked him if he was getting out of the hobby and he said he might consider joining a modular group or something like that down in Florida.

I am greatly saddened to hear of his passing. I thought he had a long happy retirement ahead of him. We never talked about his health so I don't know if he had any health problems or not. He looked like he was in good health. I know he had a sister and two nephews. My sincerest condolences to them. Charlie was a really great guy who loved trains. I will miss him.
