but as always, I'll probably go home with stuff I really don't need...LOL!
Isn't that the way it always is
First time going for me, hope to meet some of you guys.
Frank
Thanks for the info, Dan. This will be my first attendance to the Chicago O Scale meet and I'm really looking forward to it.
Thank you,
John
This will be my 3rd or 4th time attending. I've got my tax refund burning a hole in my pocket!
CN_Hogger
Come see me with some of that tax refund. I will have kits and build ups for southern style buildings.
Everyone come out and meet me I will be tied to my table
this looks cool. I just told my dad about it.
we are into all nations so hopefully we can find something.
Dan what are the hours for Saturday? Also, this is a public meet correct? I hope I don't need a pat down and a dozen signatures before entering the facility.

1) Saturday 9AM to 5PM.
2) Yes, a "public meet".
3) No "pat down and a dozen signatures before entering", but you WILL NEED $20 for Saturday AND Sunday!
The last Melissa and talked we were going with a popular vote only, no formal judging. I'll update the site as soon there is a final answer.
"Model contest"?...can I get lucky enough to combine two hobbies at one place?
So, for those of us...me...who've never attended, what can we expect to see...do...buy?
Coming from Aurora, you wouldn't be too far away....
BTW, beautiful diesel pictured there!
Dan,
I will be driving in from St. Louis early that Saturday. I am not too familar with the region either so I want to ask if there is generally any heavy traffic to contend with in the area early Saturday? I'm really looking forward to the event regardless.
Thanks again for the info.
John
Normally Saturday mornings are fine. You are coming on I55 so watch your speed between Bloomington and Pontiac. State cops love that area I355 is fine on Saturday mornings this time of year.
Have a safe trip!
Thanks for the info Dan.
John
Always a great show. Lots of awesome O scale goodies to see and buy! I'm going Saturday.
I'll be there on saturday as well...cash in hand... Looking forward to it.
Chris
I received a box shipped directly from China today which I believe is the sample model of the Sunset Models Erie Berkshire. I expect to have that as well as the Sunset PRR L1 sample and the C&NW H-1 sample on display at the show.
Joe has been in the Hospital? Will he be at the show? I hope he is having a good recovery.
I will be coming through on Wednesday. Then back on Monday.
I'm always here if you want to swing through.
Hopefully the weather will be decent. I'll be driving in from Missouri on Friday! Never been to a Chicago show and would like to meet and say hello to any other OGR forumites!
Dan I would love to stop by. Most likely it will be on the way back. I will talk to you at the show.
Marty, you are in for a treat it is a great show. The weather is looking like it will be OK. After last week I was worried driving from Arkansas.
Look forward to seeing you all
Dan, am I correct in assuming that you are having an open house for this meet? And whem? Thank you in advance.....

Yes, I was in the hospital for a week with very, very bad pneumonia. I'm home but I can't travel. Jeb and Nancy Kriigel will be my eyes and ears at the show. They'll have magazines and books for sales. If you need to renew, they can handle it. Stop by and say "Hi!".
I've urged Melissa to have a judged contest and have recommended judging staff. Ultimately, it's their call as to what kind of contest they'll have.
Most of you guys I will see at the April Strasburg meet.
Joe G.
Joe, get well soon! You had a beautiful pic in MR and it was great to see Ed's name along with it. Pretty august company, I'd say!
Yes, get well soon Joe and get your rest.

Wow that looks great.

Might as well ask here…anyone live near Midway airport wanna make a quick $10 to spend at the show? I'm getting in at 730am (can and have a route planned to take public transit to the hotel, but the schedule is tight.) Thought I'd ask here first before booking a taxi.
Hi Guys,
For those who will be attending the March Meet; could someone attending the clinics that are being scheduled there report back on them? Would greatly appreciate any information that will be presented. The one on radio control sounds very interesting. And the one one equalization is being given by Tad Daito. He's from Japan and is very knowledgeable on Japanese imported models from the past.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
Anybody posting a report on the show yet?
Does not start till Saturday...
On my way home...I'll post a bit more when I get there....
Chris
Been there, done that....did not find many structure kits to my liking (except for one
mine frame), but did find chimneys for structures that I was looking for...although not
from Tichy or Grandtline, or Keilline (who had none) , but from the guy in Paris, Kentucky, who had four different varieties of "brick" chimneys cast in metal, so I stocked up. Price was right, too. Found a Spec-Cast truck in REA, which means it is useable, and doesn't have to be repainted, like many with some beer or tractor brand slathered on them. I'd say even if you're in three rail, and you want parts, decals, or kits, and you live within a days' drive of Chicago, you should show up for this tomorrow. You won't find this stuff in your local LHS, who are into N and HO. I didn't find chimneys in either of the "O oriented" Chicago shops I hit Friday. I just wish they
held this show twice a year like York, or that there were more O scale shows.
