The Choo Choo Barn will one again offer a TCA York Meet Special Admission to TCA members and their families. Valid October 14-22, admission will be $5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for Children (3-11 yrs.) (Regular admission is $7.50 and $4.50). Please have your TCA card or your YORK MEET badge available to be able to take advantage of this discount.
An added bonus for this year's October meet will be the Strasburg Rail Road's Lancaster, Oxford & Southern Car shuttle between the Choo Choo Barn, the Strasburg Rail Road and the Red Caboose, thanks to the graciousness of the Strasburg Rail Road and the National Toy Train Museum. Here's what the TCA has to say about this great surprise:
The Motorcar will operate from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, approximately every 30 minutes. The times may vary during the 11, 12 and 1 o’clock hours due to the train running. The regular shuttle van will be available for any late stragglers.
The motorcar will pick up at the end of the tracks at the Choo Choo Barn, near the picnic area closest to the back (Route 896 side, ed.) parking lot, stop at the “J” Tower at the Strasburg Rail Road to pick up any guests that park at the Railroad Museum of PA or the Strasburg Rail Road lot and then go down to the Red Caboose to drop off. We will then provide a shuttle to bring people over to the National Toy Train Museum or they can walk if they choose.
The motorcar is not handicap accessible, so therefore all handicap parking will have to be at the National Toy Train Museum lot.
We will continue to keep the shuttle van running from the Choo Choo Barn, Strasburg Rail Road, Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the Red Caboose.

IMPORTANT UPDATE TO THIS THREAD
We received an email from Steve Barrall, Stationmaster at the Strasburg Rail Road, regarding running the L.O. & S. car shuttle on Wednesday, October 18.
"The Strasburg Rail Road restoration shop has been working on the car through the summer months, primarily making repairs to the wooden body, but there was also some work to be done to one of the trucks. The shop crew has been busily working on the car and it was expected she’d be out in plenty of time to accommodate the open house shuttle needs next week. Unfortunately, when they tore into the truck job, they found the repairs needed were much more extensive than originally thought and she won’t be ready anytime soon.
All that said, we remain committed to providing the shuttle service as originally promised, albeit with other motive power. In lieu of the LO&S motorcar, we’ll plan to operate the diesel switcher and a single coach car."
So while it won't be the LO&S in operation next Wednesday, you'll still be transported by rail, which is still an added bonus for everyone!
