Well, trackwork on my little road is finally getting done.  It is time for me to look for signals before I ballast.  Would anyone care to give some opinions as to what might be workable?

All of my track is interconnected: two lines on the bottom level with a third oval inside,a reverse loop along with yards.  The upper level has two rail lines with a reverse loop.

Thanks.

Lot depends on how you plan to use them and on how railroad and era specific you want to be.

Will they be used to control traffic movement, identify switch settings, or just as operating accessories?

Do you want modern (searchlight), old (semaphore) or railroad specific (PRR style or N&W style or B&O style or UP style)?

Let us know, and suggestions will probably be made.

it all depends on how far you want to take the signals if you are just looking for the basics then the mth or lionel signals are the right choice i have a complete b&o protypical signal system and i will tell you it took many years to get it right atlas o has a very nice signal system but all i can say is give it some thought a protypical signal system will consume alot of your time and money but when it works right it looks awsome
