Christmas is getting closer! New Lionel Door Mats

Very nice.

Looks almost too nice to walk on.  If I had one I would probably remove my shoes, then proceed.

Well I can tell you it's not going at the front door.  Not sure where I'll put it yet.

I bought one last week. They are really nice, not putting it out front either!

Love the artwork from that movie.  I never, ever get tired of it.  I get chills.  I'll have to look through that Holiday catalog again to see what I want to get.

Here. The mat and base are separate sale items. 

Lionel has some really nice stuff this year for Christmas!  I have two of the Polar Express "Believe" wall tapestries coming this week.    I might get the floor mat too, but it's much too nice to walk on -- even in the train room.  Might do something with it to make it a wall piece.

That is real nice! Did Lionel really think anyone would actually use it as a door mat? 

Are the Polar Express and Angela Trotta Thomas mats interchangeable in the base?

 

I probably wouldn't get The Angela Trotta Thomas one as the letter to Santa comes from "Matt" and I wouldn't want people walking all over my spectacular penmanship.

The base will hold either one.  The mats are sold separately from the base.  I found the mats to be rather inexpensive as well.

The holiday snow globe lantern and also the regular lantern just showed up at the LHS.

Very nice! Definitely not a product I would use for its intended purpose. In about a month or less, good old Wisconsin winter will have arrived and the snow, sleet, slush, frigid temperatures, ice and anything else I might have forgotten will trash that door mat right away. 

Most likely it will find a home in my future train room.  This year I don't know.  Maybe I'll buy a second insert and actually use it.

 

In reality, I am looking more forward to decorating the train room with "train" stuff than building a layout.  York next year will be mostly about filling the train room with RR memorabilia.

I noticed there's a "mat" and a "tray", do you need the tray to hold the mat or is the mat sufficient quality to serve as a "mat?"

You should get the tray too.

Buy one and read the tag attached to the mat. Rumor has it that it repels competitor's dirt.

 It's a Lionel item. I got mine at Imperial Train Company. I imagine you can get it at any forum sponsor as well. 

The Item number for the mat is 9-33031,Lionel. I See alot of train stores are selling them.
