My Grandson has taken many of the trains, buildings and figures etc. that I normally set up at public museums etc. to display and run Christmas trains through a Christmas village; and set up a good sized display in their front window for neighbors and friends to come visit and run trains. We have a steam engine with BlueTooth LionChief; folks can use the LionChief app on there phone to run the train through the window from outside. I have been looking for some easy to read colored instructions for the LionChief app that I could print out to post in the window to show the folks how to use the App ??? Can not find a link on the Lionel Website is there anything available I could print out that is simple to read and see for kids??

I would start with this site: http://www.lionel.com/bluetooth/
But what I would do is create your own using various things and then attach it to a QR code so people could look it up on their phones.
kj356....I have to be a Debby Downer here...giving strangers control of your train(s) looks like bad idea. In the past, I've invited neighbors who sometimes bring along a Karen who despite my VERY LARGE comfortable chairs/sofa for seating...and my request for them to change seats at anytime the Carpet Central is at a standstill....they wordlessly insist on getting up while trains are running! I admit there be "close quarters" surrounding my layout.
Yet Karen decides to obliviously sit on the yard tracks....scraping her size 14s around, as in making a snow angel, (large person) on scenery...stationary trains in the yard ...."oh did I derail that?" "Please tell me it wasn't me or my little Waldo"!
Just be proactive thinking...kudos to your effort
The manual that comes with a Lionel BT engine typically has very good instructions inside about how to operate the train with BT.
You might consider copying and enlarging that or re-typing and printing it out in color from scratch and posting to the wall.
I wouldn't over think it. The app is pretty straight forward. I'd go with Richie's suggestion and use the engine manual as a guide to making a simple sheet. I like the QR code idea Aaron came up with as well.
I am also in the “don’t do it” section. There is a huge difference between people interacting with a train when the owner is present and controlling it and allowing anyone to have complete control of the train. I have no doubt there will be that person or persons who want to see if they can get it running fast enough to derail. Just my opinion.

If they use an AC transformer they can limit the speed. This sounds like a fun holiday idea. I hope it works well.
It is just a small loop of track controlled by a Lionel CW80 transformer. In a typical year and Christmas I have several model train displays set up with the LionChief control units mounted on the fence for kids to control trains. For this set up the people will only be invited guests friends family or a few select neighbors with kids. We just set the CW 80 to the max speed that we want it at and the LionChief engine can not then go any faster. When he is running the train inside he is using the LionChief hand held remote so if anyone was on the outside the App would not be able to link with the engine.
I do have the manual in black and white and have seen the Lionel video on how to connect to the train but would like to have a simple color guide I could print out to post so people could see it outside?? Have not found anything I can use to date?
